ABOUT
About the Department: The Department of Pathology at Autonomous State Medical
College, Pilibhit provides accurate and timely diagnostic services to the community. The
department offers comprehensive diagnostic services in the field of histopathology,
cytopathology, hematology, clinical pathology and blood transfusion medicine. In addition to
diagnostic services, the department also provides a high-quality theoretical and practical
education and training for medical students.
- The department has spacious air-conditioned research lab, Histopathology and
Cytology lab, well equipped with instruments along with seminar room,
demonstration room with tri-headed microscope & L.E.D. for teaching purpose and an
air-conditioned library provides access to books, journals and online learning
resources. - The departmental museum meticulously and systematically displays number of
specimens of benign and malignant diseases along with beautifully displays models
and charts of special interest. - Histopathology lab is well equipped with Fully Automated Tissue Processor,
Embedding station, Rotary Microtome & fully automated slide stainer. - Hematology and Clinical Pathology laboratory supported by advanced diagnostic
equipment as Fully Automated 7 part hematology analyser, coagulation analyser,
urine analyser, ESR analyser & HPLC. - A 24×7 Lab catering to both in-patients and out-patients and processes about 800 tests
daily. The standards are maintained through active participation in internal & external
quality assurance programs. - Our Blood Bank is equipped with modern facilities for blood collection, component
preparation, compatibility testing, storage, and issue of blood and blood products in
accordance with national guidelines and quality standards. We emphasize stringent
donor screening, advanced testing for transfusion-transmitted infections, and
adherence to safe transfusion practices to ensure patient safety. - The department also actively promotes voluntary blood donation through awareness
programs and blood donation camps conducted in collaboration with educational
institutions, community organizations, and social groups.
